Capital Planning Process

Capital planning is the iterative process of budgeting for campus growth and renewal in terms of its physical assets (buildings, infrastructure, and land). At UCSC, it takes into consideration proposals for new projects as well as the existing conditions of aging facilities and infrastructure systems.  Parameters for weighing priorities include (but are not limited to) enrollment, utilization, work station contact hours, and employment levels.  These parameters are reviewed in conjunction with the campus core mission, long range development plans, budget forecasts, and stakeholder feedback.
